At Midwest Family Medicine, we strive to attend to all varieties of medical illnesses. Care is offered to the neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, middle-aged and geriatric populations.

Dr. Sam Awada specializes in treating the pediatric and geriatric patients.  He is board certified by both the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) and the American Board of Geriatric Medicine (ABGM). Continuing his education to stay abreast of the changes and medical advances in the fields of Family Medicine and Geriatrics, Dr. Awada has the distinction of being a  Fellowof the American Academy of Family Physicians (FAAFP) and having recently earned a degree of Fellow of the American College of Geriatric Specialists (FACGS).  He also is a Master of the American College of Geriatric Specialists (MACGS).

Our practice offers the most recent and innovative techniques to screen for, diagnose and treat Hypertension, Diabetes, Heart Disease, Respiratory Disease, Obesity, Arthritic conditions, Osteoporosis and Cholesterol.  Special emphasis is placed on prevention and the primary care of entire families. 

As a Family Medicine practitioner, Dr. Awada is dedicated to understanding the changes and challenges aging presents to his patients. Dr. Awada continues to broaden his knowledge of medical advances to treat the conditions facing his patients.    


Board CertifiedPhysicians may choose to become certified and must have training beyond medical license requirements.  Board certification involves a rigorous review of the physician’s knowledge, experience and skill in a specialty.  The board certified physician has graduated from a recognized medical school as either an MD or DO, completed several years of training in an accredited residency program, has an unrestricted license to practice medicine, and has pass an extensive written exam given by the board.

Master –  A physician who has completed one additional year of study or research in a specialty.

Fellow -   A  physician who has completed  concentrated study or research in a subspecialty, based on the original study.  To become board certified in a subspecialty, a physician must undergo fellowship training.
